Job Description

This position is within the R&D Group in XP Power Irvine CA. Successful candidate will be responsible for the design of firmware used in XP Power’s products. Responsible for ensuring that design activities are coordinated per the development procedure. Establish and maintain project schedules.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development of Firmware for new generation of DSP based power converters
  • Develop associated documents to support sales and customers
  • Develop test plans for firmware unit test.
  • Support other design teams within organization.
  • Work with assigned engineers to optimize design, performance and cost
  • Participate in other projects to solve technical issues or seek help when needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent
  • Master of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent is a plus
  • 4-6 years of Firmware development experience, preferred within the power supply industry or related industry.
  • Knowledge of serial communications (UART, I2C, CAN, PMBus).
  • Knowledge of DSP programming for real time processing.
  • Understanding of electrical circuits.
  • Ability to define unit and integration test plan.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of power conversion principles, topologies and switching techniques and technologies
  • Self-motivation, initiative and drive
  • Ability to work independently with minimum direct supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent results
