Department Overview
The Data Center SSD Firmware team develops advanced embedded firmware solutions for Micron's next-generation storage products, delivering high-performance and reliable firmware for enterprise and cloud environments.
Position Overview
As a Firmware Engineer, you will contribute to the development, testing, debugging, and validation of firmware for next-generation Data Center SSDs. You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers and multi-functional teams.
Responsibilities
  • Support development, test, and debug of embedded firmware for SSD controllers
  • Assist in analyzing firmware issues and performing root-cause investigations
  • Collaborate with multi-functional groups to reproduce and resolve issues
  • Contribute to validation, integration, and testing activities
  • Participate in code reviews and follow established development processes

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Academic background or initial experience in embedded firmware development
  • Programming exposure to Python and one system-level language (C, C++, or Rust)
  • Familiarity with development tools, scripting, and debugging environments
  • Ability to work in a multi-functional team

Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to embedded systems and interaction with hardware components
  • Basic understanding of low-level programming concepts and debugging techniques
  • Academic or internship experience in firmware or embedded software development
