NVIDIA is looking for an excellent Firmware PHY Software Engineer for the NVIDIA FW PHY Group. In this role, you will work closely with NVIDIA application engineering teams, customers, other FW development teams, architecture, and chip design teams to gain a deep understanding of NVIDIA's networking products and technologies.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build AI Infrastructure: Work on the most groundbreaking technology for building next-generation AI infrastructure.

  • PHY-Layer Problem Solving: Debug, analyze, and solve PHY-layer issues over our cutting-edge networking devices, enhancing performance and reliability in our products.

  • Customer & Team Collaboration: Work directly with our application teams to support our customers and rapidly resolve their critical technical issues.

  • Multi-functional Engineering: Collaborate with architecture, HW, and SW build teams to isolate and solve complex, multi-layered problems.

  • System-Level Triaging: Debug and screen complex HW/FW/SW issues across the stack.

  • Silicon Bring-up: Take an active part in both the silicon bring-up and software development phases.

  • Data-Driven Innovation: Lead data-driven discussions about product functionality, customer difficulties, and areas for improvement.

What we need to see:

  • Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant embedded engineering experience with a strong software development approach.

  • Customer Facing Capabilities: Proven experience investigating, managing, and resolving direct customer issues.

  • Core Skills: Proficient programming in C/C++ with strong debugging experience and the ability to investigate and triage difficult problems in embedded FW.

  • Adaptability: Ability to manage interrupts and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a great attitude.

  • Communication: Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with people across several countries.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Proficient in Python and data analysis.

  • Good understanding of SerDes operation.

  • Experience with developing the physical layer of communication protocols.

  • Deep knowledge of the Hardware/Software Development Process.

  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with an ability to successfully guide and influence both internal teams and external customers.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 152,000 USD - 241,500 USD for Level 3, and 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 4.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
