We are currently seeking a dynamic Firmware Design Engineer to contribute to the success of our rapidly growing business.
As a Firmware Design Engineer, you will:
- Produce high quality, efficient, and maintainable code on our cutting edge networking products on time.
- Efficiently solve issues on embedded system, where issues might hide in firmware or hardware.
- Analyze the high level requirements, break them down to details and specifications, and make them real.
- Purpose and implement innovation ideas to improve quality and productivity.
- Communicate with teams in Fortinet and partners smoothly.
- Write technical documents, update wikis to reflect the latest release.
- Design and implement boot verification and measured boot mechanisms on different architecture platforms.
- Design and implement secure firmware and upgrade/validation mechanisms to prevent firmware attack and ensure security across HW, FW and running services.
- Design and implement security mechanisms across entire product life cycle, and work closely with manufacturing and RMA.

- Must be proficient in C.
- Must be familiar with Linux environment.
- Must possess strong OS & computer architecture knowledge.
- Must possess fluent English reading/writing ability.
- Solid understanding of keys/certificates infrastructure and cryptographic fundamentals
- Experience in Secure Boot(UEFI or custom chain of trust)
- Experience in bootloader(UEFI, uboot), device driver, Linux Kernel and low level debug is a big plus.
- Proficient in Linux development environment, such as Makefile, shell scripting, Python
- Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, switch.
- Fluent English listening/speaking ability.
