Matrix IFS is seeking is seeking an experienced Fircosoft Application Specialist / Engineer to support and maintain the Fircosoft sanctions screening platform, with a primary focus on Firco Continuity. This role is responsible for application support, configuration, production operations, performance optimization, and ensuring the availability and compliance of sanctions screening solutions used in enterprise banking environments.

Fircosoft Application Specialist / Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Application Support & Production Operations

  • Provide Level 2/Level 3 production support for Fircosoft applications in a 24x7 environment.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate with vendors for Level 4 support when required.
  • Monitor application health, transaction processing, messaging queues, and batch jobs to ensure system availability.
  • Perform operational maintenance, scheduled restarts, and production support activities.

Fircosoft Administration & Configuration

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Firco Continuity screening rules, sanctions/watch lists, and filtering parameters.
  • Utilize Fircosoft Utilities and Live Services for rule management, testing, and impact analysis.
  • Continuously optimize screening rules to reduce false positives while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Sanctions Screening & Payment Processing

  • Support sanctions screening for payment channels including SWIFT MT/MX, Wire Transfers, and ACH.
  • Monitor transaction processing and ensure timely resolution of screening alerts.
  • Assist AML and Compliance teams in investigating flagged transactions and resolving screening issues.

Monitoring & Performance Management

  • Perform daily health checks and monitor application performance.
  • Track system utilization, messaging queues, failed transactions, and application errors.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of Fircosoft environments.

Incident, Change & Release Management

  • Manage incidents, service requests, and problem tickets using ITSM tools.
  • Support application deployments, upgrades, patches, and release validation activities.
  • Participate in production readiness and post-deployment support.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with AML, Compliance, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Operations teams to support business-critical applications.
  • Coordinate with LexisNexis/Fircosoft support teams for product enhancements, issue resolution, and escalations.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience supporting Firco Continuity (required).
  • Experience with the Fircosoft Suite, including Firco Trust and Watch List Manager (WLM), is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of payment processing systems, including SWIFT MT/MX, Wire Transfers, and ACH.
  • Experience with messaging technologies such as IBM MQ and Kafka.
  • Proficiency with SQL and Oracle databases.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and monitoring tools such as Datadog.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting AML, sanctions screening, or financial crime compliance platforms.
  • Understanding of banking payment systems and sanctions screening workflows.
  • Experience working in enterprise production support environments with ITIL-based incident and change management processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years experience in financial crime compliance, sanctions screening, or transaction monitoring
  • Hands-on experience with FircoSoft screening platforms
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis for large datasets
  • Strong understanding of financial crime risk, AML, sanctions, and fraud typologies
  • Experience in highly regulated financial services (Tier-1 or large regional banks)
  • Ability to work directly with clients and internal stakeholders consultatively
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Experience supporting regulatory remediation programs, model validation, or enforcement-related initiatives
  • Familiarity with FIRCO integrations across payment, transaction, and messaging systems
  • Experience developing governance frameworks for alert reduction, risk acceptance, and exception management
  • Prior consulting or client-facing delivery experience
