The FinOps Analyst will be responsible to set the strategy and serve as a subject matter expert in the FinOps practice, cloud service costs monitoring and alerts, lead the Cloud Community of practice and provide best practices and governance on cloud services and standards. They will be responsible for developing, maintaining, governing and supporting the cloud optimization practices for our cloud infrastructure. This role will be a blend of hands on, partnering with our finance organization, working with vendors, coordinating with other technical and business teams around their plans and setting strategy on future use-based savings.
The Challenge

Support the monthly cloud budget process and monthly Invoice approval process by providing reporting, cost allocation and ownership of the Cloud POs

Support stakeholders by providing visibility on cloud spend and analysis of the spend through custom and ad hoc reporting

Monitor cloud consumption at the appropriate levels of granularity and set policies to detect cost spikes, budget overage detection and anomaly detection and resolution

Build dashboards and automated reporting that support the teams mission to provide insight into cloud spend, usage, financial reporting and commitment to spend tracking leveraging tools like CloudHealth, JIRA, Looker Dashboards etc

Design, develop, and maintain reports and KPIs that provide detailed usage statistics of resources across the cloud landscape

Support the Cloud Community of Practice (CCoP) and provide back up to the team on various CCoP events

Participate in business case development, cost modeling, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

Participate in automating, integrating, and maturing the Cloud FinOps processes and data

Support the VMO in implementing and supporting SaaS governance process
Desired Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business/Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Knowledge of Python, SQL, APIs and experience in building dashboards and automated reporting will be a plus
-
7 years of experience in financial operations or equivalent experience

Minimum of 2 years of IT experience or 2 years of experience working with multiple cloud providers; Azure, AWS, GCP, and OCI
-
Experience managing cloud spending data to identify areas to optimize or reduce costs
-
Experience in FinOps practices; FinOps certification and Cloud certification is a plus

Knowledge of cloud technologies, i.e.,Knowledge of cloud financial practices and cost controls, usage, patterns, and pricing

Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices

Legally authorized to work for any US employer
