Financial Systems Manager

Hello, we are AMBOSS and we are looking for a Financial Systems (ERP) Manager to join our team!

AMBOSS is a learning and clinical decision support tool striving to empower physicians across the globe to provide the best possible care. Our founders set out in 2011 to create a tool that they would have hoped to have as medical students and doctors. Since then we have grown to currently operate in 180 countries and have gained immense traction in Germany and the US. Currently, we are pursuing this mission with more than 500+ employees in our offices in Berlin, Cologne, New York, and Cagliari.

Be the coordinator between Engineering, Data, Finance, and Accounting—architecting a future-proof financial-systems landscape that powers long-term business growth. Your work will streamline Finance & Accounting operations, ensure rock-solid data quality for analytics, and deliver measurable impact across the company for years to come.

As Financial Systems Manager you will drive the vision, roadmap, and continuous evolution of our ERP and related finance tools. Beyond coordinating projects, you’ll design scalable foundations, embed best-practice processes, and guide teams toward a resilient, self-service ecosystem that grows with the business.

• Set the course. Define a multi-year roadmap for ERP and adjacent systems—balancing immediate needs with strategic scalability.
• Build for longevity. Lead greenfield implementations, major upgrades, and integrations while establishing standards for data quality, security, and governance.
• Orchestrate collaboration. Align requirements and optimise workflows with Data, Finance, Accounting, HR, and Product/Shop teams.
• Own the stack. Manage configurations, access, and observability; drive continuous improvement through audits and automation.
• Enable insight. Craft reporting layers and dashboards (SQL, BI tools, Google Sheets) that turn raw data into actionable finance intelligence.
• Elevate capability. Train users, champion adoption, and foster a culture of iterative optimisation and documentation.

• End-to-end thinking—seeing the complete finance data flow and shaping processes that scale.
• Programme leadership across diverse stakeholders and geographies.
• Balancing precision and pragmatism to keep long-term initiatives moving.
• Translating complexity into clear, business-ready language.

• 2 + years in ERP or financial-systems ownership, with delivered multi-stakeholder projects.
• Solid grasp of finance/accounting workflows; German GAAP exposure is a plus.
• Proficiency in SQL and advanced spreadsheet functions; BI experience welcomed.
• Excellent English communication; German (C1 for reading regulations) advantageous.
• Bonus: Process-automation or AI-driven finance tooling experience.
