Job Description:

  • Manage all phases of loan processing and product sales to meet branch goals in compliance with Coosa Valley Credit Union’s policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Oversee teller functions to ensure they are performed efficiently, securely, and accurately, including management of the vault, daily branch fund balancing, and inventory of supplies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in processing transactions and approve or override teller transactions within established limits, including cashing/accepting checks, verifying identity, and confirming funds availability.
  • Perform teller transactions as needed to support branch operations.
  • Lead the Member Services team, ensuring the delivery of excellent service aligned with branch growth objectives, while operating in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards. Mentor and guide less experienced team members.
  • Partner with branch leadership to ensure optimal performance and model best practices for the team. Provide leadership to achieve team goals and maintain positive member relations.
  • Ensure that teller functions are performed efficiently, accurately, and securely, processing at least 150 transactions per day with minimal errors, and maintaining a 98% accuracy rate in balancing.
  • Ensure all cash funds are balanced daily and discrepancies are promptly addressed. Maintain accurate balancing records and resolve any issues in accordance with Credit Union standards.
  • Manage teller schedules effectively, including workflow, breaks, lunches, and time off, ensuring the branch operates smoothly.
  • Foster positive relationships with members by resolving inquiries or issues in a courteous and timely manner. Ensure all member interactions (in-person, phone, or email) are handled professionally.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with team members and management. Provide assistance to other Member Specialists and staff as needed, and keep management informed of daily activities and branch performance.
  • Uphold Coosa Valley Credit Union’s professional reputation through effective communication, strong work ethic, and a professional appearance.
  • Ensure all member and staff records, reports, files, and related documents (including perfected liens) are accurate, current, and submitted to appropriate departments or optical storage in a timely manner.
  • Complete loan processing functions in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Light travel is required. Travel to the various branch locations or to off-site trainings may be necessary on occasion.
  • Perform additional duties as required or assigned by management.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of experience in banking is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in cash handling is required.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • General skills applicable to this position include:
    • A minimum of a beginner level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
    • Advanced skills in using computers and related equipment, 10-key calculator, multi-line telephone/intercom systems, and a variety of general office equipment including copy machines, scanners, and fax equipment.
    • Ability to interact tactfully and professionally with Credit union staff as well as external contacts. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in dealing with various personnel and member information.

Skills Required

  • High school diploma or GED
