Financial Manager (Jnr/Mid Level)

Andile, a specialist financial services technology and solutions firm in Rosebank, Johannesburg, seeks to employ a mid-level Financial Manager. Andile operates within the Corporate and Investment Banking environment and our focus is on providing solutions to the complex financial services industry by using suitable technologies, including leading vendor applications, custom builds, and business intelligence, thereby fulfilling the space between Business and Technology. We focus on the implementation, customisation, and development of Treasury and Trading technology solutions.

The Role:

Andile is looking for a qualified candidate who has completed their articles and has a passion for everything related to finance, for business. You will focus on commercial, financial and operational aspects of the company and you will report directly to the Group Financial Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities

Commercial:

• Involvement in negotiating & understanding of Master Service Agreements, esp. Commercial terms.
• Oversight of all Work Orders with the PMO team.
• Actual vs Projected income scenario analysis etc. per project.
• Oversight of financial viability of projects.
• Develop ‘objectives-based’ system & process enhancements to enable more effective day-to-day management of business profitability.

Financial:

• In-house management of online financial management software.
• Investigate ways to improve profitability.
• Collating, preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, accounts, analysis and financial statements.
• Undertaking strategic analysis and assisting with strategic planning.
• Payment of all invoices, expenses etc.
• Transfer & reconciliation of data from Timekeeping System to Financial System (Invoices).
• Management of Debtors book.
• Management of Employee benefits schemes.
• Tracking of budgets vs Actual in terms of Revenue and expenses.
• Weekly Profitability analysis.
• Examine statements to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure that statements and records comply with laws and regulations.
• Compute taxes owed, prepare tax returns, ensure prompt payment.
• Inspect account books and accounting systems to keep up to date.
• Organise and maintain financial records.
• Improve businesses efficiency where money is concerned.
• Make best-practices recommendations to management.
• Provide auditing services for businesses and individuals.

Accounting Functions:

• Prepare month end journals including fixed assets, prepayments, income, and expense accruals.
• Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliations including VAT reconciliations and preparations of VAT returns, PAYE, and other necessary SARS requirements.
• Take ownership of monthly management reporting to the executive team and assist the Head of Finance in preparation and feedback on variance analysis.
• Take full responsibility for preparing the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packs.
• Work with the dealers and operations team to ensure that all captured transactions are allocated to the correct clients and prepare the monthly client invoices.
• Debtors and Creditors reconciliation.
• Prepare detailed budgets and forecasts for cash flow
• Support the annual financial audit process.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Finance, Management Accounting or related equivalent.
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles.
• CIMA or CGMA qualified.
• 2 -3 year’s post articles experience.
• Advanced practical experience in Excel.
• Be self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
• Excellence of character and high standards of excellence.
• Ability to drive and implement new processes, frameworks and policies.
