Mr Price Money is seeking a commercially astute and forward-thinking Finance Manager to lead the finance function for its Telco business. The role is responsible for financial performance, internal controls, reporting and commercial business partnering across the business. The successful candidate will combine strategic leadership with a hands-on approach. This role requires strong telecommunications experience, including exposure to MVNO and MNO business models.

Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Business Partnering

  • Partner with the Telco leadership team to drive business performance and strategic decision-making.

  • Provide financial insight on key commercial initiatives and growth opportunities.

Forecasting, Budgeting & Financial Modelling

  • Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Maintain rolling forecasts and scenario modelling.

  • Develop robust financial models covering subscriber growth, revenue, margin and profitability.

  • Challenge assumptions and improve forecast accuracy.

  • Support the development of long-term strategic plans.

  • New store feasibility assessments

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and board reporting packs.

  • Deliver timely reporting to Group Finance and key stakeholders.

  • Perform variance analysis and performance commentary.

  • Monitor KPIs including MVNO subscriber metrics and key retail metrics.

  • Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.

  • Efficient management of overheads and cost control.

  • Monthly cash flow statements and cash flow control.

Financial Controls and Governance

  • Manage balance sheet integrity and monthly reconciliation processes.

  • Review and approve all balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items and control weaknesses.

  • Ensure accurate accounting treatment and IFRS compliance.

  • Design and implement financial controls and governance frameworks.

  • Develop and maintain finance policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Manage internal and external audit processes.

  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.

Telecommunications 

  • Provide financial oversight of commercial arrangements.

  • Develop a deep understanding and analysis of telecom revenue streams.

  • Monitor industry, regulatory and technology developments impacting financial performance.

Digital Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive automation and digitisation of finance processes.

  • Leverage technology and analytics to improve reporting quality and efficiency.

  • Build a future-ready finance function that scales with business growth.

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach and develop finance team members.

  • Create a high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Build strong relationships across Finance, Commercial and Group functions.

Qualifications
  • CA(SA) qualification and active SAICA membership.

  • 7+ years relevant post-articles finance experience.

  • Leadership experience in a Finance Manager or similar role.

  • Telecommunications industry experience is essential.

  • Strong experience in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

  • Sound knowledge of IFRS and financial controls.

  • Advanced Excel and finance systems proficiency.
