Advancing Eco Agriculture is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our growing team. The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance across all financial reporting and analysis. This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and oversee the finance department, including accounting, budgeting, and financial forecasting, while also ensuring that our financial strategies support our mission of advancing regenerative agriculture practices. This role will offer the opportunity to work both from the Willoughby Science Lab and the Middlefield Administration Building.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial activities, including accounting, AP/AR, payroll, treasury, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage cash flow, ensuring adequate funds are available for operational needs.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and efficiencies.
- Prepare detailed financial reports to assist in strategic decision-making by the executive team.
- Collaborate with other departments to analyze financial performance and support budgeting processes.
- Lead the annual financial review process and liaise with external auditors as well as tax preparers.
- Monitor and manage financial risks to protect the company’s assets.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in financial management, with a focus on budgeting and forecasting.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Sage 100 experience is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
