Summary:

To serve as a team leader in the finance department and ensure that the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization. The financial controller undertakes all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory, tax, and financial reporting, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

The role is in charge of both businesses of the company in the US (Pharmaceuticals and Dermo-cosmetics) and all four entities.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, Inventory, Revenue Recognition, Payroll, T&E, Reporting and Consolidation for all 4 legal entities

  • Manage all aspects of inventory accounting and reporting

  • Handle all internal and external audits of financial statements with Auditors

  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements

  • Responsible for Treasury function for all entities

  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting

  • Lead month-end and year-end close process

  • Prepare and publish annual financial statements for local and group purposes

  • Ensure quality and internal control over financial transactions and financial reporting

  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including sales tax, corporate tax, franchise tax, licensing etc

  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

  • Pharma Pricing (Governmental Pricing) and reporting

  • Pharma Manufacturing and R&D Accounting

  • Insurance contracts

  • 401k Audits

  • Manage and develop the accounting team

  • Other duties as requested by the Business

  • Support deployment of new systems including an ERP upgrade in the coming 2-3 years

Required Education and Experience:

  • BS in Accounting

  • CPA or CMA

  • Experience with creating financial statements

  • Experience in Gross-to-Net revenue accounting in the pharmaceutical sector preferred

  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

  • Over 5 years of total Finance experience

  • Accounting background, preferably in a process environment, particularly a cosmetic, nutraceutical or pharmaceutical organization

Work Environment / physical demands / position type and expected hours of work:

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

  • This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. 

  • The normal working hours of the office are from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
