Overview of Position
The Financial Business Unit Systems Analyst is responsible for providing or implementing technical solutions for both internal and external clients; managing and maintaining client data; facilitating User Acceptance Testing; maintenance and support of system files, tables, or configurations used to drive the base functionality of our applications; troubleshooting problems/issues; and handling projects ranging from moderately to highly complex in nature or projects supporting finance initiatives.
The Analyst’s primary role is to maintain TPA client data and support the department’s systems and staff by recommending and implementing system enhancements that promote data accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and growth.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Technical/Data Expertise and Production Support

Design, develop, and implement technical solutions to improve system functionality, data analytics, or automate processes.

Processes third party batch data for month end execution on the AIM databases, testing for data integrity and results of data validation edits.

Reconciles client data to control totals and client remittances and analyzes variances from expected results.

Able to diagnose system issues and/or provide direction to production support staff to resolve a particular system issue.

Troubleshoot low to high complexity system/data issues with limited direction.

Document work requests.

Manage workflow
Customer Liaison, Relationship Building, and Communications

Build relationships and rapport with internal and external customers and our business partners.

Exercise strong written and verbal communication skills.

Collaborate effectively with internal and external business partners during projects.

Provide support to clients as assigned.

Participate in management of customer expectations.

Express verbal and written ideas independently and effectively to internal audiences.
Analysis/Solution Generation

Identify defective or inaccurate client data and provide solutions to related parties to ensure data accuracy.

Research, report and implement temporary and long term fixes for moderate to highly complex problems and issues
-
Ability to identify priority issues and determine which issues can be handled within the authority of an Analyst versus being able to discern those issues requiring escalation.

Assess impact of proposed business solutions on current systems and procedures.
Testing, Debugging, Test Management, Quality Assurance

Determine testing requirements for moderate to highly complex assigned work, based on the business requirements
-
Design/Draft test plans for moderate to highly complex requests.
-
Execution of test plans throughout the project life cycle for moderate to highly complex requests.
-
Identify, research, document, report, and communicate any defects with functionality, flow and/or program changes.
-
Produce agreed upon deliverables on time, within estimates, and without error.
-
Timely retest and document the corrections made for defects.
-
Act as testing coordinator, supplying project team members the details needed for them to complete their own testing assignments.
Project Management
-
Participate as a project lead for moderate to highly complex projects.

Apply project management methodologies and practices to ensure efficient workflow.
-
Identify project issues and communicate progress and obstacles to sponsors and/management.
-
Handle multiple tasks and small to medium projects, concurrently.
-
May direct and/or guide work of less experienced participants.
-
Contribute to the definition, planning, coordination, execution, and status reporting for projects of any size.

Anticipate/discover problems and communicate issue and possible solutions to appropriate individuals.
Implementation
-
Coordinate production implementation efforts with User community and IT.
-
Communicate implementation timelines and tasks.
-
Post-implementation audits/reviews.
-
Develop the User Documentation and Training material.
-
Train impacted associates.
Process Engineering
-
Analyze existing processes or workflows of low to moderately complex for adaptive or corrective changes.
-
Display solid knowledge of detailed project process re-engineering approaches and techniques.
-
Document existing and new business processes and workflows with low to moderate levels of complexity.
-
Participate in new process definition efforts as requested.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
-
Minimum of 3 years technology, data analysis, accounting, or finance experience.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, information technology or related field, or 4 years related analyst or industry experience
-
Accounting, Finance, or Insurance domain knowledge
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively perform system/data support duties.

Strong problem-solving abilities
-
Analytical mindset and desire to determine root causes for data anomalies.

Relational Database Knowledge (SQL Preferred)
-
Ability to quickly learn new applications and equipment.
-
Ability to process moderate to highly complex time sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions and communicate actions.

Experience interpreting and documenting moderate to highly complex workflow processes.
-
Ability to prioritize, organize and work independently or as part of a project team to complete multiple tasks.

Knowledge of a variety of database applications like SSMS
-
Knowledge of Microsoft suite tools like Excel, PowerPoint.
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
-
Project Management experience, Agile, or Business Analyst Certification a plus.
-
Understanding of database theory and experience working with databases is preferred.
-
Experience with tools like PowerBI or Alteryx a plus

Experience with Oracle or other Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) software a plus

Experience with Microsoft Azure

Insurance accounting experience a plus
-
Familiarity with Insurance terminology
Pay Range:
$63,400.00 - $105,800.00
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
