We are currently looking for a new Financial Analyst to join our In Simulation and Validation (ISV) Business Finance Team. As Financial Analyst you will get the opportunity to impact business decisions and strategic direction by providing senior leadership team with accurate, analytical and insightful analysis to drive performance mindset globally across regional and functional teams.
Reporting to the Business Unit Finance Director you will ideally be based out of our office in Portugal (Porto), but should expect some travelling to other sites.
This job is well suited to an ambitious candidate with limited experience who is looking to develop within the field of Finance Business Partnering. In this role, you will get the chance to work with a high degree of autonomy, as well as being provided with a steep development curve to ensure your own professional development.
Primary responsibilities
In collaboration with the ISV Business Finance Team, you will be responsible for providing financial support to multiple regional and functional directors and vice-presidents across multiple functional areas (such as Global Sales, Marketing, Product Management & Research and Development).
You will use your professional competencies, strong analytical abilities and ‘can-do’ attitude to become to a value adding finance expert, who has solid commercial understanding and interest in the company to challenge the status quo.
Your daily work includes:
Performance Management & Controlling: Support monthly closing and financial reporting activities. Prepare variance analyses and monthly business review reports. Monitor key financial and operational KPIs. Analyse profitability by product, customer and region. Support cost controlling and identify efficiency improvement opportunities.
Financial Planning & Analysis: Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes. Prepare rolling forecasts and analyse deviations versus budget, forecast, and prior year. Perform revenue, margin, pricing, and cost analyses to support decision-making. Contribute to long-range planning and strategic initiatives.
Business Partnering: Partner with commercial stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations. Translate financial data into clear business insights for management. Prepare presentations and materials for leadership and monthly business reviews.
Reporting & Process Improvement: Maintain and improve financial dashboards and reporting tools. Support automation and simplification of reporting processes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within finance.
Leading and/or contributing to a wide variety of projects and initiatives as required
Professional qualifications
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting
You could be newly graduated or have a couple of years of experience within a business partnering environment, working in similar positions such as Financial Analyst, Business Controller or FP&A Analyst
Fluent English skills, both verbal and in writing
Highly proficient in the use of the Microsoft office tools, notably Excel and PowerPoint, Power
Personal skills
Possess strong interpersonal skills and support a collaborative working style
Have the capacity to adapt to change and influence others to change
Demonstrates operational excellence – continually looks for new and better ways to get things done and shows functional/technical proficiency in work
