What you will be doing:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and business forecasts.
  • Analyze financial performance and key operating metrics.
  • Support executive leadership and department leaders with financial insights.
  • Assist with business case development and ROI analysis.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Partner with Accounting, Actuarial, and operational teams to validate financial data and understand performance drivers within the P&C insurance environment.
  • Support financial reporting and analytical processes in accordance with company policies, internal control standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation supporting financial analyses and reporting outputs to ensure accuracy, transparency, and audit readiness.
  • Support strategic initiatives, growth opportunities, and operational improvements.
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis for senior leadership and business partners.
  • Maintain dashboards and key performance indicators.
  • Support financial systems, planning tools, and reporting enhancements.
  • Support investor relations and public company reporting, as needed.
  • Assist with process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you have:

Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, accounting, or related finance role.
  • Experience within the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry preferred.
  • Experience analyzing financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Experience performing financial analysis or evaluating financial performance trends.
  • Experience preparing and analyzing financial reports under both GAAP and statutory (STAT) accounting standards within a property & casualty insurance environment
  • Experience supporting SEC filings (10-K and 10-Q) and related audit processes
  • Experience with external audit requirements and coordination (GAAP and STAT)

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights to management.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Professional PowerPoint presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of financial reporting processes and internal control standards in a regulated environment.
  • Proficient in other Microsoft 365 applications such as Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
