The Finance department of ConocoPhillips in Norway has ~65 motivated and competent employees looking forward to getting a new colleague. We cover a broad area ranging from Accounting, Controlling, Financial Reporting, Tax, Business Analysis, Strategy & Portfolio Analysis, Treasury Services and Economics & Decision Support. Digitalization, analytics and robotic process automation are high on our agenda. The Norway organization supports ConocoPhillips’ business in Europe and North Africa. We have an internal job market and focus on career development. We are integrated with the global Finance organization and interact a lot with our Headquarter in Houston, USA.

Position Overview

ConocoPhillips Norway is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. In this role, you will contribute and gain experience across key finance disciplines within the energy industry.

Responsibility

  • Budgeting, controlling, financial planning, forecasting, and reporting & analysis of results versus objectives for selected areas of the business

  • Providing analysis and financial information to senior leaders to guide decision making

  • Ongoing follow-up of operations and drivers in the business unit

  • Optimizing business performance by identifying areas of improvement and participating in projects

  • Further developing performance management framework (e.g. dashboards & KPIs) to support strategic and operational progress of the business

  • Active involvement in improvement projects related to the Finance function, including further development of routines and processes

  • Leveraging digital tools for performance management as well as continuous improvement of main finance processes

  • Ad-hoc financial tasks

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in finance, business, economics, accounting, auditing or similar

  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience, preferably from the energy industry

  • Strong system & analytical skills

  • Graduate candidates will also be evaluated

Preferred competencies

  • Strong business understanding with financial acumen and the ability to translate operational activity into clear financial insight.

  • Proactive, service-minded, and focused on building strong relationships across disciplines

  • Motivated by continuous improvement and increased use of digital tools and automation

  • Interpersonal communication, both written & oral presentation skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines through good time management and prioritization
