Neogen is seeking two motivated Financial Analysts to join our Finance Department. Both roles will support various aspects of financial planning, analysis, and reporting. However, one of the positions will specifically focus on the Operations side, working closely with Global Operations leadership to drive financial decision-making and support operational efficiency.

This role follows a hybrid model, combining in-office and remote work. We offer flexibility in scheduling to accommodate individual needs while maintaining team collaboration.

Operations Financial Analyst

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create KPI’s and monthly reports on freight spend; responsible for accurate GL coding of freight invoices; analyze freight costs to identify opportunities for savings.
  • Support the Finance Director, Operations, in preparation and review of annual budget.
  • Meet with Operations leadership monthly to review spend compared to budget and update monthly forecast.
  • Perform gross margin analysis, providing bridges and explanations for various business units and product lines.
  • Work with Operations teams on identifying potential cost savings opportunities, track and report on actual savings.
  • Provide inventory reporting and analysis.

Financial Analyst

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create KPI’s and monthly reports on revenues, expense, capital expenditures and working capital. Analyze variances against prior year and budget and identify trends and areas of improvement.
  • Participate in annual budget and monthly forecast processes.
  • Support business partners on projects and with ad-hoc analysis.
  • Provide bridges and explanations for variances against budget, forecast and prior year for various business units and product lines.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Work on Corporate Development projects.
  • Build financial and reporting models in FP&A software.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in finance or accounting, FP&A and/or business support experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, cost accounting, and financial modeling.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with SAP S4/Hana preferred.
  • Requires advanced Excel skills; prior experience with Power BI and FP&A applications preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
