Job Description
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a knowledgeable and talented Financial Analyst within the FP&A department. You will be responsible for analyzing large datasets, monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators, and overseeing expense management for our Ivans and Small Commercial teams.
What You'll Do

  • Help create operating materials on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Actively partner with internal stakeholders to provide to provide both financial and analytical support to help monitor business unit performance
  • Maintain an expense management tool for our Ivans Business Unit
  • Generate financial reports using tools like Tableau to provide accurate and timely information to management
  • Help automate and streamline daily and monthly reporting
  • Interpret the data into actionable items and collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive measurable results with a sense of urgency
  • Clean and manipulate large data sets to deliver insights and contribute to business strategy
  • Support with special projects, including developing financial forecasts, conducting business scenario analysis, and working on cost reduction strategies


What You'll Need to Succeed
We're looking for someone who:

  • Can work hybrid from our Applied Systems office in Chicago


Your experience should include some or all of the following:

  • Excel expertise, with the ability to build and manage complex models
  • Excellent financial management and analytical skills, with a deep and demonstrated understanding of financial modeling and analysis tools
  • Proficient in Tableau
  • Experience with Alteryx
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of an organization
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, in particular, an understanding of key financial and operational needle movers
  • Willingness to accept new challenges, and a high level of curiosity and creativity as it relates to new projects and problem-solving
  • High energy and initiative
  • Excellent with numbers, math & logic
  • Passionate about business: you like to understand what drives a business, and try to identify opportunities to go after and risks to mitigate
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in finance, business, or related field
