The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial analysis and decision support for the Vertical Brand and Merchandising teams through project analytics, dashboard reporting & insights, monthly business reviews and budgeting/forecasting. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis, Reporting & Ad-Hoc Analytics

  • Provide financial analysis to support Vertical Brands and other Merchandising strategies and business initiatives.

  • Execute weekly and monthly reporting deliverables for key business partners, including the Vertical Brand monthly business review.

  • Communicate financial insights and recommendations to key stakeholders to make informed business decisions.

  • Participate in special projects where a Finance perspective is required or requested by Management.

  • Support automation efforts for FP&A to streamline weekly/monthly reporting.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of assigned components of the annual Vertical Brand budget, including sales, gross profit, operating expenses, administrative expenses and capital expenditures.

  • Work with business partners across the Vertical Brand and Merchant teams to update the Vertical Brand forecast, and maintain visibility to risks & opportunities. Analyze and proactively address forecast accuracy issues.

  • Analyze variances vs budget and historical results. Identify key drivers and trends

Reporting/Monthly Close

  • Complete month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.

  • Compile, validate and summarize expense information for reporting to business units.

  • Assist with management reporting in support of our financial close cycle and quarterly earnings announcements.

Test & Learn Analytics

  • Leverage Test & Learn Analytics to identify key performance drivers and help stakeholders make smarter business and investment decisions.

  • Influence test design and site selection to ensure results are unbiased and representative of the chain.

  • Effectively summarize test results and utilize findings to perform ROI and hindsight analyses.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related business field

  • 1 to 3 years of Finance or Merchandising experience

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Peoplesoft Experience

  • Hyperion Budgeting and Forecast System

  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work with a team

  • Self motivated with critical attention to details and deadlines

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
