Reinsurance accounting and close
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting for reinsurance premiums, claims, commissions, recoverables, payables, accruals, and related adjustments in accordance with approved accounting policies and treaty terms.

  • Prepare manual journal entries with clear business rationale and complete supporting documentation, and submit them through the established review and approval process.

Treaty administration and settlements

  • Prepare or validate premium and claims calculations, including deposit and adjustment premiums, commissions, broker-related adjustments, and cash settlements, as applicable.

  • Maintain organized treaty-level records and supporting evidence to enable traceability from source data to the general ledger.

  • Coordinate with reinsurers, brokers, Claims, Treasury, Underwriting, Reserving, and other Finance teams to research and resolve accounting or settlement differences.

Reporting, controls, and analysis
  • Produce management, financial, regulatory, and audit support schedules related to reinsurance balances and activity.

  • Analyze movements and variances, identify financial or operational impacts, and communicate concise explanations to reviewers and stakeholders.

  • Execute assigned controls and quality assurance checks, retain evidence of performance and review, and escalate control exceptions promptly.

  • Support inquiries from internal and external auditors and contribute to the remediation of findings or process gaps.

Data, systems, and improvement
  • Extract, validate, and reconcile data across reinsurance source systems, spreadsheets, databases, and the general ledger.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, strengthen controls, improve data quality, and standardize recurring processes.

  • Participate in system changes, user acceptance testing, process documentation, and finance transformation initiatives.

  • Maintain current procedures, process narratives, desktop instructions, and control documentation for assigned responsibilities.

What you'll bring
