The Financial Analyst will be based in Milpitas, California, reporting to the Sr. Controller of Finance.
In charge of preparing and researching financial reports in hold up of business needs in order to ensure charges and headcount are passed to the correct business units and to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
What a typical day looks like :
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, ensuring financial results are accurate and recorded in accordance with company policies and U.S. GAAP.
- Perform periodic review of Profit and Loss (P&L) accounts to ensure that all the postings are done as per the defined corporate accounting Policy, Process and Procedures.
- Perform variance analysis of actual results versus Quote/forecast, and prior periods, and provide clear explanations to management
- Develop detailed commentary to changes in forecasts and to deviations from targeted financial metrics.
- Liaise between financial departments and regional and local finance managers in developing internal working partnerships.
- Assist in quarterly reviews and year-end audit activities.
- Perform inventory analysis, including inventory aging, excess and obsolete (E&O) reserves
- Key KPIs Typically Owned/Monitored - Revenue, VAM (Value added Margin), Manufacturing Variances, Cash Flow, PPV (Purchase Price Variance)
- Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies
- Reconcile all the scoped Balance sheet accounts with sub ledger/manual schedule to identify the variance, if any and ensure that those variances are properly deal in the books of accounts.
The experience we're looking to add to the Team:
- Typically requires a B. Com / B.C. S / M. Com / MBA /BBA/ BBM, any other commerce and Accounts Stream degrees.
- Typically requires 5-6 years of related experience.
- Related professional certification preferred - Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified General Accountant (CGA), or a America Production Inventory Control Society (APICS).
- Expertise in Microsoft and Excel
