The IT Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in the intersection of finance and technology, providing financial insights and strategic support to the IT department. This position involves analyzing financial data, preparing budgets, forecasting, and ensuring efficient allocation of resources to optimize IT investments. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial principles, and a solid grasp of IT operations and systems.Essential Functions:(Includes the following. - Conduct detailed financial analysis and modeling to support IT projects and initiatives.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including variance analysis and financial performance metrics.
- Monitor and analyze budget vs. actual performance, providing insights and recommendations.
- Develop and manage IT department budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Coordinate with IT leadership to prepare accurate and timely forecasts.
- Identify trends and variances, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Track and analyze IT expenditures, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Evaluate cost-saving opportunities and strategies for optimizing IT spending.
- Collaborate with procurement to assess and negotiate vendor contracts.
- Support strategic IT planning processes by providing financial insights and scenario analysis.
- Assist in the evaluation of IT investments, business cases, and ROI analysis.
- Participate in the development of long-term financial plans for IT initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist in the identification and management of financial risks within the IT department.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary financial information and documentation.
- Work closely with IT leadership, project managers, and other stakeholders to provide financial guidance.
- Foster strong relationships between the finance and IT departments.
- Communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders effectively.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS Finance) or relevant certification (CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within an IT or technology environment.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with IT financial management and cost optimization strategies.
Other Skills and Abilities Required:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
