About the Job
The Financial Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the revenue section of the P&L as well as the financial reporting process. This person will also lead the Accounts Receivable team and the end-to-end AR process and tasks. Additionally, this person will manage the following financial activities including but not limited to revenue month-end close, revenue and gross margin analysis, financial statement preparation and reporting, and reimbursable expense invoicing and reconciliation, Lead and develop the team to ensure success. Partner and work closely with all internal and external business owners.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, self-starter, independent thinker, and problem solver, who has the ability to be in the details but also step back and look at the big picture. This person is one who is comfortable leading a team but also willing to pitch in to assist with whatever is needed. We are looking for someone who can contribute as a leader in a fast-paced, growing organization.

Job Description:

Responsible for leading, coaching, training, and developing the team to ensure success
-
Monitor and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
-
Manage the Accounts Receivable team and the end-to-end AR process including but not limited to client invoice delivery, invoice input into the accounting system, collection management, and reconciliation and reporting
-
Leads the month-end close and financial reporting process for revenue, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all transactions and financial statement completeness
-
Partner with business owners to fully understand underlying assigned business segments and operational processes
-
Review and analyze revenue and gross margin results at a program level to ensure accuracy, understand trends, and identify margin opportunities

Perform detailed review, analysis, and reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts
-
Responsible for the financial reporting process and the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including financial packages, analysis, and all supporting reports

Manage the reimbursable invoice process ensuring accurate and timely invoice preparation of reimbursable expenses to clients and reconciliation of reimbursable revenue to reimbursable expenses to ensure completeness for assigned business segments

Understand each client contract and ensure expenses are being invoiced within the terms of each client contract

Responsible for various tax filings such as sales/use and gross receipts tax and unclaimed property reporting

Responsible for preparation of revenue apportionment for state tax filings

Effectively manage the relationship with both internal and external customers

Effectively support senior management on ad-hoc reporting and projects
-
Successfully create strategies to ensure individual and team objectives are met in a timely manner

Drive process improvement initiatives to develop standardization in processes and controls across the organization

Participate in annual audit ensuring successful completion within defined timeframes
-
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and other practices set forth by executive management

Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
-
7+ years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience
-
3+ years of management experience
-
Understanding of GAAP and the application of such
-
Project accounting experience preferred
-
Advanced knowledge of Excel
-
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
-
Ability to be an “out of the box” thinker
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
-
Ability to train and manage staff
-
Ability to work with little to no supervision
-
Self-starter with the ability to multi-task
-
Meticulous attention to detail but the ability to step back and analyze big picture

Excellent prioritization and organizational skills to ensure deadlines are achieved

Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
