Financial Accountant

Absolute Pets is growing Pet Care Retailer and is looking for an individual to join their finance team. The successful candidate will need to ensure the accurate recording, reporting and analysis of Absolute Pets financial transactions enabling informed decision making and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Payments

• · Ensure timely payments in line with agreed supplier payment terms
• · Process bi-weekly payment runs
• · Manage and process credit card top-ups
• · Assist with monitoring and managing company cashflow

Cashbook

• Weekly capturing of cashbooks
• Weekly allocations and processing of transactions
• Reconciliation of online sales to bank receipts

Refunds

• Process store and online customer refunds accurately and within required timeframes
• Liaise with stores where necessary to resolve refund queries

Reporting

• Weekly reporting on damages and expiries
• Weekly reporting on price changes

Monthly Processing

• Prepare and process month-end accruals
• Process fleet related expenses and reconciliations
• Process and reconcile eBucks transactions
• Process and reconcile FNB loan related transactions

Projects and Ad-hoc Support

• Assist with finance projects including the Beneficiaries Project
• Provide support to Finance Managers where required
• Assist with audit preparation and requests
• Provide general administrative and operational support to the finance department

Qualifications, personal traits and experience

• 2-4 years experience in a financial accounting role
• Diploma or Degree in Financial Accounting or equivalent
• Strong accounting knowledge
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, with focus on Excel
• Effective communication skills
• Strong organisational skills
• Has ability to adapt to changing requirements
