Your North Star:

The Financial Accountant is responsible for accurate, timely, and complete financial administration and contributes to the overall financial reliability of the organization. You play a key role in preparing monthly and annual closings, financial reporting, and compliance - with a specific focus on SaaS-specific revenue recognition (ARR/MRR) and IFRS 15 / subscription accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

• Process and review financial transactions in the general ledger. 
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities. 
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports. 
• Manage and reconcile intercompany accounts, bank transactions, and accounts receivable/payable. 
• Apply revenue recognition principles for subscriptions and contracts (Dutch GAAP). 
• Review invoicing processes and collaborate with Customer Success / Sales Operations to ensure correct revenue recognition. 
• Support internal and external audits. 
• Contribute to process improvements and automation of financial workflows (e.g., via Zenvoices, Stripe, or Adyen). 
• Assist the Head of Finance with budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting.

A successful candidate brings: 

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 
• Excellent command of Excel; experience with Power BI or Looker Studio is a plus. 
• Proactive, self-driven, and results oriented. 
• Affinity with technology and fast-paced, scaling environment

Required Skills & Experience

You bring:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business Economics. 
• Strong communication skills in English (and Dutch is a plus).
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a SaaS or software environment. 
• Experience with month-end and year-end closing (Dutch GAAP standards is a plus)
• Experience with South African Tax Law
• Knowledge of subscription accounting, deferred revenue, and ARR/MRR analysis is a strong plus. 
• Experience with financial systems and ERPs (e.g., Basecone, Zenvoices, Twinfield, AFAS, or similar).
