We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Northgate team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will provide accurate and timely financial information to support our wholesale distribution and software businesses across Australia & New Zealand. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large, head office finance team and be part of a global organisation that makes a positive impact to our vet customers and pet owners.
Your responsibilities will include –
- End of month preparation including journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Providing variance analysis and other supplementary reporting to management and as required for US reporting purposes.
- Day to Day financial management of our software business and supporting the software team on financial matters.
- Ownership of processes and P&L accounts associated with fixed assets and operating leases.
- Responsibility for loading financial information into the US reporting system.
- Assisting with the preparation of statutory financial statements and liaising with external auditors as required.
- Assist with completion of surveys for the Australian Bureau of Statistics and other Governing Bodies.
- Budget preparation and forecasting.
- Assisting with compliance with global internal control framework.
- Assisting with various projects and business improvement initiatives.
About You
Ideally you will display –
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Commerce coupled with CA/CPA qualifications (or working towards).
- Demonstrated three years experience within a large, commercial environment and accounting team.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel.
- Well developed interpersonal skills with an ability to adapt your communication to suit different internal stakeholders.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise your work in an agile way.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a focus on seeking out continuous improvement opportunities.
