Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our forward-thinking team. In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, contributing to process improvements, and providing insights that support the growth and success of the company.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare and deliver timely, accurate financial reports, overseeing month-end processes with a focus on reconciliations and accounting standards.
- Monitor and analyse revenue and cost centres, offering insights into variances and trends.
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts and board packs, contributing relevant commentary on performance, trends, and budget comparisons.
- Support cash flow forecasting and treasury-related reporting.
- Contribute to process improvements, including automation of data entry and assisting in the design of internal controls to improve efficiency.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements and external reporting obligations (AFSL, APRA, BAS, FBT).
- Support external audits and collaborate with auditors.
- Participate in ad hoc project tasks as required.
Qualifications
What You’ll Have:
- Qualified accountant with relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Solid experience in a similar role, ideally within lending services or adjacent financial services.
- Strong understanding of technical accounting standards.
- Experience with ERPs, including Technology One, Calumo, and Tableau (advantageous).
- Advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, growing environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships.
- A collaborative approach to offering insights and working with teams.
