Position Summary

The Financial Accountant is responsible for the preparation of supporting schedules and detailed records of AgriSompo North America. The Financial Accountant is responsible for preparation of reports showing correct accounting treatment of Company activity.

Job Responsibilities
- Gather, organize and analyze the organization’s financial data, including transactions, costs, and expenditures.
- Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and post transactions in the general ledger for monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Prepare tie outs, organize, and update financial records to ensure accurate reporting.
- Prepare reports and projections based on financial data.
- Communicate financial information to managers, executives and other departments to help with budgeting and investment decisions.
- Support in monthly and quarterly financial close in a timely manner.
- Communicate and coordinate tasks with other staff members.
- Assist with compiling supporting documentation related to internal and external audit.
- Assist with maintenance of internal controls.
- Provide backup for other staff members and train other staff members to be backup on necessary tasks.
- Continually assess tasks and processes to identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Support the development and delivery of analytics process, substantiating reported financial results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education
Required- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related field required or equivalent relevant work experience.
Experience
Preferred – minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with IFRS and statutory accounting knowledge a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience using accounting software.
- Knowledge of SAP Software is a plus.
- Desire to grow through continuous training.
- Must be self-motivated.
- Excellent problem-solving, math, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demands.
- Must be responsible for deadlines and timely with workload and schedule.

Physical Demands & Requirements
Sedentary work.
