We are seeking a Financial Accountant to strengthen our finance function with a focus on accurate reporting, compliance, and supporting international operations.
Role Overview
This is a mid-level, hands-on accounting role. You will be responsible for preparing month-end financials, assisting with audits, and managing statutory and tax compliance (including IAS, BAS, and payroll tax). You will work closely with the Finance Manager/Controller and external advisors, contributing to both day-to-day operations and the group’s global reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Month-end financials: Prepare monthly financial statements and reconciliations for the group and subsidiaries.
Close processes: Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and intercompany reconciliations.
Audit support: Assist external auditors during statutory audits and ensure timely completion of requirements.
Compliance & tax:
Prepare and lodge IAS, BAS, and payroll tax returns.
Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations across jurisdictions.
Reporting & analysis: Support preparation of consolidated results and provide variance analysis for management.
Payroll oversight: Assist with payroll reconciliations and ensure employee entitlements are correctly reported.
Process improvement: Contribute to improving accounting systems, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies.
Global exposure: Collaborate across entities and regions to ensure consistency in reporting and compliance.
Ad hoc projects: Support new product rollouts, cost allocation, and investor/debt raise reporting as required.
Requirements
Role Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA/CA (or working towards qualification) preferred.
2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or global environment.
Solid knowledge of accounting principles and statutory reporting (IFRS/GAAP).
Hands-on experience preparing month-end financial statements and supporting audits.
Experience lodging IAS, BAS, and payroll tax (Australia focus, with global exposure ideal).
Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, NetSuite).
Detail-oriented, well-organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing business.
Strong communication skills with ability to work across teams and external advisors.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or CA qualification, or currently working toward qualification
- 2-4 years of accounting experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and statutory reporting under IFRS or GAAP
- Experience preparing month-end financial statements and supporting audits

- Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills
