AvePoint is excited to provide the opportunity for a Sr. Sox Consultant who is looking for a role where they can support a company's SOX compliance as an in house consultant. 

You should apply for this role if you are looking to work with a growing finance team and make an impact in company’s compliance capabilities.  

As our first Senior SOX Consultant, you will assist in defining control objectives and monitoring compliance efforts. As a newly public company, this role is an integral part of our finance team and will serve as an internal consultant on our Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICFR). This role is ideal for someone who is process oriented, enjoys working cross functionally, and can bring the “human” element to managing SOX compliance. 

What your day to day will look like:

  • Working with control owners on the ongoing design and testing of internal controls.
  • Developing, implementing, and updating SOX documentation, flowcharts and RCMs.
  • Reviewing and evaluating reported control deficiencies, root causes, and planned corrective actions in conjunction with control owners.
  • Working with control owners to drive remediation efforts for any identified deficiencies.
  • Assisting in training control owners, process owners and functional leaders with SOX compliance program activities.
  • Assisting in SOX documentation and reporting
  • Performing other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Maintaining a current knowledge base of internal audit industry practices to ensure best practices are always considered.

What you will bring to our team and feel valued for:

  • 3+ years of experience focused on supporting SOX compliance
  • 4+ years of audit experience in an internal/external audit capacity, BIG 4 a plus
  • Solid knowledge of the COSO framework, as well as internal audit processes and methodologies
  • Experience in process documentation, design and process improvement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical recommendations to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the organization
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Economics, Finance or similar field
  • CPA, CIA or CISA preferred
