The Latam MSA HQ Finance director is one of the most senior roles in Microsoft Latin America Finance. Reporting to the Area CFO, and leading a team of approximately 20 people, this person will:

  • Execute the business transformation ensuring an effective transition of centralized activities into HQ
  • Drive countries' performance & execution through Area Business Partnership & Finance communities
  • Drive decision making on investments, resource allocation and ROI to accelerate cloud consumption / usage growth
  • Drive the customer success agenda through leveraging insights to influence consumption, remove blockages & improve LTV
  • Create synergies/streamline, scale and optimize processes/land best practices in the subs
  • Strong partnership with Deal Desk to influence large deal construction for all material deals & act as a coach to sub CFO's
  • Oversee partnership with MCAPS Corp and Corp EGs to share field insights and issues requiring escalation
  • Develop and build our people talent across the area. Including coaching CFO/FP&A teams and building new skills
  • Partner with Consumer Finance to ensure relevant insights on Commercial Surface provided to the business

Prioritize
• Leads business analytics and research activities determining present and future financial performance, formulating and evaluating financial plans, economic transactions, and future opportunities. Prepares, summarizes, and drives recommendations.
• Leads effort to work with business partners to translate top-down targets to an accountable budget and to generate operational plans and strategy within their organization. Leads annual planning and forecasting processes. Reviews, analyzes, and prepares recommendations for preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Partners and solicits insight from senior business and commercial stakeholders.
• Provides direction and actionable insights on the state of the business to key stakeholders. Orchestrates the rhythm of the business for area of responsibility including closing, recurring business review preparation, sharing trends, and budgeting. Guides team to focus on driving profitable growth by being an integral part of planning and performance tracking processes. Collaborates and empowers others to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.
• Leads customer relationship management. Oversees complex negotiations with customers. Ensures that organization and teams remain customer-centric. Develops strong relationships with customers at senior levels. Develops capabilities of teams to engage with customers on their wider relationships with Microsoft. Manages balance between customer centricity, enablement of sales, and cost effectiveness. Drives recommendations for solutions to complex financial issues with customers.
Partnership
• Partners with senior business and commercial leaders to drive performance and strategy to achieve the best return on investment (ROI) and shareholder return. Gains commitment from stakeholders to align execution and mitigate risk. Guides team to focus on generating actionable business insights to drive profitable growth and shareholder return by being an integral part of the business decision making process. Partners across boundaries to remediate and resolve complex issues.
• Applies advanced understanding of Microsoft business, industry, and drivers of shareholder return to ensure senior leaders are presented with the most relevant data, insights, risks, and recommendations necessary to support strategy execution. Leverages business expertise to attract and inspire talent and help others reach their full potential.
• Conceptualizes and designs new approaches to how financial data is collected and evaluated to impact the broader organization and Microsoft's long-term goals.
• Works with Microsoft experts to identify and leverage advanced tools and technology to aid in achieving greater production, autonomy, and goal attainment. Drives improvements in data management through automation.
• Understands the interconnections between data, information, and results and translates this into forward looking narratives and forecasts. Provides clarity and alignment with senior leaders. Implements creative ways to show patterns and draw conclusions to help drive decisions and clearly communicate findings. Generates actionable plans based on complex results, ambiguous findings, and multi-year time horizons. Coaches team to translate data into a simplified and engaging message with actionable insights. Facilitates a shared understanding and awareness of business partner situation.

• Drives the right tone from executive leadership and ensures strict adherence and understanding of Microsoft policies on risk and compliance.
• Influences leadership to ensure compliance is a top priority and modeled throughout the organization.
• Directs team and holds others accountable to ensure financial control processes, policies, instruments, and procedures are executed.
• Guides team and encourages others to identify and share risks to compliance and take steps to mitigate.
• Drives a compliant culture through actions and decisions to instill trust.
• Advocates, educates and promotes best practices and new developments.
• Champions Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards. Advances key compliance initiatives.Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 10+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
