Below is the Financial Operations Structure and what we are looking for in our candidates:
• Budget/Forecast Team - Responsible for administering the annual enterprise budget, producing the yearly financial plan, budget adjustments, long-range, and service line forecasts, etc.
• Capital - Assess financial impacts of strategic capital requests including business plan reviews and initiative prioritization.
• Corporate Development - Support strategy, organizational planning and operational leadership to effectively manage significant growth initiatives involving hospital and physician practice mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations and alliances.
• Performance Improvement - Partners with various leaders and areas to lead enterprise, or larger-scale, projects to both increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.
• Regional (Ohio) Finance - Provides financial operations support to all departments of Ohio Regional Hospitals, Family Health Centers, Cleveland Clinic Community Care, and Pediatrics. Serves as the liaison between the Clinical/Operations and all other Finance departments, advises Executive and Department leads in achieving the organizations goals. Leads performance management, budgeting/forecasting, strategic business planning, capital planning activities, and ad-hoc reporting /analysis.
• Shared Services - Partners with C-suite corporate divisions to help guide the financial aspects of their service line (budget, monthly close, etc.), but also to act as a strategic partner with regards to future planning, enterprise goals, and project-related work.
• Institute Finance - Partners with clinical and operational leaders in Anesthesiology, Connected Care, Imaging, Pathology and Lab, Pharmacy, and Surgical Operations in developing financial reports and tools to optimize performance. The team performs financial reporting, business planning, benchmarking, cost accounting, contract evaluation, pricing reviews, and is responsible for leading the annual capital, treasury, patients served, and operating budgets.

Analysts that we bring in will be primarily placed in one of the departments, but we operate what is called a matrixed environment, where they will have access and project/operational work in each of the areas. The goal is to develop well-rounded candidates who will develop into future finance leaders within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, analyzes and communicates key financial information and provides support to management and other staff members regarding financial reporting and other related issues.
  • Assists with budget preparation and financial planning processes and budget review for compliance and opportunities.
  • Serves as consultant to all levels of management to provide decision support for initiatives, policies and procedures.
  • Completes special projects and duties including providing necessary research, forecasting and conflict resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field required.
  • Master's Degree preferred


Certifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Account (CMA) certification preferred.


Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to complete basic analytical, consultative and information support through analysis and report preparation.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Awareness of key performance indicators, cash flow analysis, product line analysis and proposal development.


Work Experience (Financial Analyst I):

  • One year Accounting, Finance, Healthcare, Investment Banking or Management Consulting experience preferred.


Work Experience (Financial Analyst II)

  • Minimum of 2 years financial or revenue cycle management or general analytical experience required.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Offset: Master's degree and 1 year of related experience.
  • Offset: Cleveland Clinic Finance Fellow experience may offset 1 year of required experience.


Work Experience (Financial Analyst III):

  • Minimum of 3 years financial or revenue cycle management or general analytical experience required.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Offset: Master's degree and 2 years of related experience.
  • Offset: Cleveland Clinic Finance Fellow experience may offset 1 year of required experience.


Work Experience (Senior Financial Analyst I):

  • Minimum of 4 years finance, revenue cycle management or general analytical experience required.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Offset: Master's degree and 3 years of related experience.
  • Offset: Cleveland Clinic Finance Fellow experience may offset 1 year of required experience.


Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC, normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting and frequent walking, occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.


Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
