Position Description:

Performs a wide range of complex analytical and high-level support functions that align with the day-to-day client coverage, transaction and idea generation, transaction execution and practice development activities of the team. The Senior Associate will establish strong working relationships with key product partner groups and internal industry teams. With limited supervision, apply analytical skills to provide consistent data and reporting support for leadership, our senior bankers, and commercial finance. Ensure timely development of external and internal work product to deliver high quality strategic ideas and pitches, as well as internal deal-related materials and seamless coordination of workflow and deal execution for the teams' clients. Provide management and oversight of the Analyst pool to ensure the production of quality work. Manage and maintain financial models with accuracy and limited oversight.

Responsibilities:

• Provides critical support to the senior bankers in the Financial Sponsors Group with focus on deal origination, idea generation, client coverage and transaction execution activities
• Exhibits day-to-day leadership in the origination and execution of transactions, and demonstrate knowledge of the full process and industry developments
• Identifies, develops and effectively communicates ideas and analysis internally and across the franchise
• Develops and leverages knowledge of sponsors, their portfolio companies and market activity in order to proactively generate ideas on behalf of our clients
• Independently build (or oversee the building of) detailed valuation analysis and financial models to support client idea generation and advisory / capital raise assignments that result in recommendations based on the assessment of the data analysis
• Manages multiple high priority opportunities simultaneously with minimal oversight
• Effectively participate on deal teams consisting of FSG Analysts, Associates as well as team members from other product / industry groups within the bank
• Takes on added responsibility to train, develop and mentor other junior bankers and provide feedback in a constructive manner
• Develops constructive work relationships with peers and senior bankers in Capital Market and the rest of the organization
• Provides leadership in administrative and brand-building areas that supports the groups leadership and enhances group effectiveness including recruiting and training, among other areas
  
  Qualifications & Skills Required:
• 3 - 5 years of experience in Banking, Investment Banking, Leveraged Finance, Private Equity/Debt, or Capital Markets

• Working knowledge of the concepts of accounting, corporate finance, capital markets and credit
• Proven track record of teamwork and collaboration with the ability to manage projects and direct workstreams across multiple teams
• Strong written and oral communication skills, research, quantitative and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple high-value projects and changing priorities with minimal oversight
• Preferably a BA or BS degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or similar field evidencing a strong record of academic performance
• FINRA Series 79 license required
• FINRA Series 63 license required
• Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series

Analyst III Financial Sponsors Group

Compensation for this position is largely incentive-based. Incentives are combined with either a base salary or a draw, resulting in total cash compensation. More information can be obtained upon request.
