Today, federal procurement and BD is fragmented across disconnected workflows, siloed intelligence, and institutional knowledge locked in spreadsheets and inboxes. Built by alumni from Palantir, Lockheed Martin, and leading AI companies, Pryzm is backed by Tier 1 investors including a16z, and is trusted by organizations across the national security and federal technology ecosystem. Our mission is simple: deliver the best capabilities to the missions that matter most.

The Role

We’re looking for our first dedicated finance hire, to own both strategic finance and core accounting and enable our continued growth. You’ll partner with our Chief of Staff, CGO, and CEO in a high-impact hands-on role as you help build the finance infrastructure and prepare us for continued growth. You’ll work directly with the leadership team to manage cash, support strategic decisions, and ensure the company operates with financial clarity and discipline. You’ll also establish the core accounting and compliance infrastructure needed to scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the company financial modeling, including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning.

  • Create a strong startup finance reporting cadence, reviewing growth, retention, etc.

  • Help define how finance works for an AI-native company, including modeling inference costs, infrastructure efficiency, and next-generation unit economics.

  • Manage cash flow, runway, and support fundraising efforts

  • Build and maintain clear reporting for leadership, investors, and the board

  • Establish and run core accounting processes (monthly close, financial statements, audits)

  • Oversee payroll, AP/AR, tax filings, and external accounting partners

  • Implement financial controls and ensure compliance as we scale

  • Develop key metrics and dashboards to track business performance

  • Act as the primary finance partner to GTM, Engineering, and Operations leaders

  • Partner with GTM to build and optimize revenue operations, including pipeline tracking, forecasting accuracy, and sales efficiency metrics

  • Negotiate with vendors to get us preferred rates on various costs.

What We’re Looking For

  • Must have 2+ years of experience (ideally 3+) in SaaS / AI-type business, to understand the nature of software accounting.

  • Bonus if spent time at Seed-Series B stage startup

  • Built and owned financial models used for real business decisions (e.g., fundraising, pricing, or forecasting)

  • Experience managing or overseeing accounting operations

  • Ability to operate independently and build systems from scratch

  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment with significant ownership

  • Clear communicator who can translate financial insights into business decisions

  • Located in or willing to relocate to Boston (preferred), DC, or NY. This is a fully on-site position.

Why Join Pryzm:

  • Opportunity to Build: You’ll be our first dedicated finance hire, defining how finance operates at Pryzm from core accounting infrastructure to strategic decision-making.

  • Strong traction: Strong PMF with leaders in the National Security ecosystem, and Tier 1 Investors

  • Work directly with founders: You’ll partner closely with the CEO and Chief of Staff on the most important decisions in the business, with high ownership and trajectory

  • Shape an AI-native company: You’ll help define financial systems and metrics for a new category, including modeling inference costs, infrastructure efficiency, and next-generation unit economics.

  • Mission-driven impact: Pryzm supports organizations working on national security and critical federal missions - your work will directly enable those outcomes.
