We're looking for a Finance Transactional Services Assistant to join our Finance team in Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the AAM UK Group of companies. Working as part of a collaborative team, you'll be responsible for a range of transactional finance activities, ensuring processes are completed accurately, controls are maintained and key stakeholders receive a high-quality service. You will also have the opportunity to identify improvements to existing processes and contribute to the ongoing efficiency of the Finance function.
Key Responsibilities for the role include:
- Preparing daily bank reconciliations and associated journal postings to support effective control of company bank accounts.
- Processing payments and bank transfers through Bankline, ensuring transactions are completed accurately and on time.
- Supporting the accounts payable process, including invoice processing, maintaining an accurate creditors ledger and responding to supplier queries.
- Preparing corporate payments and associated accounting entries.
- Managing corporate credit card and employee expense payments, ensuring claims are processed in line with company policy.
- Administering payments to travel, reward and benefit providers and completing associated reconciliations.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and processing depreciation journals.
- Contributing towards intercompany balance reconciliations for AAM UK within the AAM Group.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Previous experience carrying out transactional finance activities, including reconciliations, payments, accounts payable or similar finance processes.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while working to deadlines.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to investigate and resolve queries.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- A proactive approach, with a willingness to identify process improvements and efficiencies.
- The ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Good systems skills and confidence using technology to support and streamline processes.
