Job Description:
This role will be key in the successful delivery of the automation opportunities within Finance Business Units from multiple locations in Asia.
The Finance Systems Senior Specialists will be part of the tactical solutions development team, participating in design, development, maintenance, and optimization of Microsoft 365 Office applications and adapt to new tools and technologies. It is a pre-requisite to have a strong background in Excel, and VBA programming, with ability to dissect and enhance existing Excel/VBA applications is critical to this role. The role will be also responsible for the transition of existing reports and applications to a more sustainable environment using PowerApps, Power Query, Alteryx, and other similar tools. This person should possess strong analytical mindset and be able to learn quickly, work in a fast-paced team-driven environment and communicate well with business and technical personnel.
The role reports to MBPS Team Leader, Asia Finance Transformation Automation team
Key Responsibilities:
- Automation Development: Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for Business Units to address both current and future needs, adhering to best practices and company standards.
- Solution Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of automation solutions, including design, coding, testing, deployment, maintenance, and support.
- Business Requirement Analysis: Assess and interpret end-to-end business requirements and objectives, ensuring that key stakeholder satisfaction is monitored and met.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including deployment guides, maintenance plans, support protocols, and business requirements to ensure ease of use and transparency.
- Training and Support: Facilitate training sessions and walkthroughs to prepare business users and team members for new automation solutions.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Parallel Runs: Provide primary support during UAT and parallel runs, acting as the main point of contact for escalation and resolution of issues.
- Problem Solving: Identify operational problems and propose actionable solutions to management.
- Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement improvements to existing automation processes to enhance performance and efficiency. Support existing processes and implement change requirements as part of a structured change control process.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's program with relevant work experience of at least 6 years; Bachelor's Degree holders are welcome to apply
- Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation) and must be willing to work on a morning shift
Skills to Hire/Must Haves:
- Advanced skills, knowledge and experience with Excel functions and VBA is required.
- Strong knowledge and experience in developing automation solutions are required.
- Experience with Alteryx, Power BI, PowerApps or Anaplan is a plus.
- Experience with automating tasks using VBA for Smart View, SQL is a plus.
- Proficient with enterprise technology, specifically the O365 suite, including SharePoint.
- Strong capability in analyzing user requirements, data analysis, data mapping, debugging, data cleansing, and blending.
- Solid background in creating and maintaining business and technical documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain technical details to non-technical colleagues.
- Possess advanced level problem-solving skills, capable of identifying and resolving complex issues efficiently and effectively.
- Comfortable in operating across geographies and with teams of varying maturity
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment and adapt to change while managing time and workload effectively within aggressive timelines.
