This role reports to the Finance Services Associate Manager (AM) – Tax under the GSSC Group Function Services (GFS) tower.
The role supports both the AM and the Finance Services Operations Manager (OM) – Tax in ensuring that QBE’s tax compliance and reporting obligations are met across all relevant jurisdictions. This includes managing various tax requirements (e.g., income tax, indirect taxes, and other applicable taxes) for the Group and/or its divisions.
Key responsibilities include assisting with tax audits, providing ad hoc tax advisory support to the broader QBE business, and handling high-complexity and urgent tasks. The role may also perform first-level reviews, as applicable, to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Act as 1st level reviewer role on various tax and/or preparer role on high complex/urgent tasks.

• Supervise others in completing process tasks and reviews the accuracy of inputs to the relevant tax balances

•Perform the tax and/or accounting variance analysis/reconciliation process which may include the following:In coordination with the Team Leader and/or Operations Manager, acts as overall champion for issue resolution with additional focus on investigation, continuous process improvements, and POCs for stakeholder management

•Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve tax reporting, tax control and any tax related matter in the course of the service delivery

•Sound technical understanding of spreadsheets, data analysis and reconciliation procedures (e.g., use of Microsoft Excel)

•Excellent verbal, numerical and written communication skills

•Ability to collaborate with people at different levels within the organization to accomplish a common goal

•Intermediate to advanced problem solving and analytical Skills

•Attention to detail

•Ability to work on a local and global team (particularly on European time)

•Ability to organize, manage, prioritize and effectively meet deadlines working on multiple assignments simultaneously

Required Education

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience

• 4 years relevant experience

Required Licenses/Certifications

• CPA

Preferred Experience

• Experience working from top Audit/Accounting firms preferred

•Experience working with insurance and/or shared services experience preferred
