We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Financial Officer to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing debtors, creditors, grower payments, and ensuring accurate reconciliations across the business.
Key Performance Outputs
- Process daily financial transactions, including inventory journals during harvest periods
- Monitor and maintain blueberry inventory and stock movements
- Manage debtors and creditors, including invoicing, statements, and collections
- Ensure timely follow-up of outstanding payments in line with payment terms
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy in trial balances
- Match supplier invoices to approved purchase orders and upload into systems (e.g. Netsuite)
- Prepare and submit payment requests in accordance with company policies
- Perform customer and supplier reconciliations for review and approval
- Maintain accurate filing and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
- Assist with month-end processes, including stock adjustments and reporting
- Support inventory controls for chemicals, fertilisers, and other inputs
- Escalate discrepancies, overdue payments, and process issues where required
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping (or equivalent)
- 1–3 years’ experience in a junior accounting or finance role
- Strong knowledge of accounting systems (experience with Netsuite advantageous)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office
