Depot Controller

Depot Controller is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a depot, ensuring effective stock control, fleet coordination, administrative compliance, and the safe, efficient movement of products. The role focuses on maintaining operational controls, minimizing risk, ensuring accurate inventory management, and supporting service delivery to customers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• ·       Order fill >100%At

·       On time deliveries > 100%

·       Efficient truck utilisation.

·       Correct loading of orders

·       PM deliveries where required

·       Receiving and despatching of quality bread daily

·       All costs and expenses within agreed targets.

·       Product distribution (Route              viability)

·       Distribution cost per loaf

·       Variances

·       Fleet Image

·      Stocks within model

·       No stock outs

·       Minimal stock write off

·       Minimal stock shrinkages

·       Daily admin information to be submitted

·       Reporting deadlines met.

·       Information submitted correct.

·       Weekly Driver Balances on Thurs to be zero

·       Control all stats and data for correctness and timeous submission

·       Manage depot stats and take corrective action where necessary.

·       Liaise with Distribution Manager on a regular basis

·       Operational involvement on a daily basis.

·       Communicate results and objectives to all staff.

·       Address and finalise any issues.

·       Staff appraisals and objective setting.

·       Conflict management.

·       Management by walkabout.

·       Instil action-oriented ethos.

·       Mentor all staff.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE:

At least 5 years experience as a Depot controller or similar

Minimum of a Grade 12 but a diploma or degree would be preferred

At least 3 years sales experience within FMCG
