What you'll do:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Maintain and develop internal SOX controls
- Coordinate with external accountants to produce UK statutory accounts and corporation tax analyses
- Coordinate and complete quarterly and annual audits
- Manage the daily operations of the finance department and lead, coach, and develop a team of finance professionals.
- Development of continuous improvement culture
- Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and suggest improvements where weaknesses are identified.
- Any further ad-hoc finance duties that may be required
What it takes:
- Strong working knowledge of integrated ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
- An in-depth understanding of accounting principles, UK reporting requirements, financial regulations, and tax laws
- The ability to efficiently manage tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is critical
- Analytical and logical with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Qualified CIMA / ACCA or working towards end of qualification
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
