Job Title: Finance Manager - Ireland
Reporting to: Head of Statutory Reporting & Controls
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Manager to support our Group Accounting Team in the accurate preparation and reporting of monthly, half-yearly, and annual accounts for our Irish subsidiary. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial records, managing daily reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. You will also work closely with various departments, assist in the audit process, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our financial processes. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be adept at managing multiple priorities effectively.
Responsibilities
- Client Account Segregation: Prepare and maintain segregation reports for client bank accounts specific to the Irish subsidiary, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Bank and Ledger Reconciliations: Perform daily reconciliations of all bank accounts, as well as customer and merchant general ledger accounts, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Account Maintenance and Trial Balance Preparation: Maintain accounting records for the Irish entity, producing a trial balance and draft accounts for management review.
- Bank Transactions: Prepare and record all accounting entries for bank receipts and payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Month-End Reporting: Assist in the month-end reporting process, focusing on the Irish subsidiaries, to ensure timely and accurate financial closure.
- Prepayments and Accruals Management: Maintain, review, and analyse monthly prepayment and accrual schedules to support accurate financial reporting.
- Intercompany Transactions: Manage intercompany postings and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance within group standards.
- Balance Sheet Revaluations: Calculate and analyse balance sheet revaluations, supporting the Group’s monthly reconciliation process for management review.
- Audit Preparation: Compile schedules and provide detailed support to the Group team for both half-year and year-end audits, facilitating a smooth audit process.
- Payroll Accounting: Post monthly payroll entries, update payroll tax schedules, and ensure payroll accounts are accurate and current.
- Ad Hoc Projects and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the Group Controller and Head of Finance on special projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the control environment and streamlining reporting processes.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Perform ad hoc postings and maintain general ledger accounts as required to ensure up-to-date and accurate records.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Strong academic record, ideally with a university degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, or a related field, with a minimum final grade of 2:1 or equivalent.
- Professional Accounting Qualifications: Actively pursuing or near completion of an accounting qualification with a recognised accounting institute (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Experience: Proven experience working within a finance environment, with hands-on experience in general accounting, reconciliation, and month-end processes.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems, enabling efficient data analysis and reporting.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying discrepancies and improving processes.
