Job Description
Role Purpose
The Finance Manager will report to the Group Financial Controller and will operate as an integral part of a passionate, hard-working, and collaborative Finance team. The Finance Manager will play a significant role in supporting the preparation and consolidation of Superloop’s financial reporting process for external stakeholders, including the ASX and investors. The Finance Manager will provide pivotal support to external auditing processes, month end closures, P&L statement and balance sheet insights, technical accounting, and tax positions and compliance for both our Australian and international entities across the Asia Pacific region.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the half year and full year financial reporting process for external stakeholders, including ASX and investor reporting.
- Ensure compliance to statutory Corporations Act, and tax regulations in Australia and APAC region.
- Manage financial reporting and tax compliance for international subsidiary companies including close liaison with international external audit and tax advisors.
- Manage month end close coordination including P&L & BS reviews & insights.
- Manage and record month end accruals and provisions.
- Prepare and review GL reconciliations and support monthly management reporting deliverables.
- Support acquisition related accounting and tax activities.
- Support tax related preparation and compliance including income tax, GST, FBT, R&D, transfer pricing and close liaison with external tax advisers.
- Interpret and apply Australian accounting standards, support with preparation of technical accounting papers and determination of accounting treatment as required.
- Provide technical accounting and tax advisory to the broader finance team.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and training to the broader finance team.
- Lead and support to drive process improvements and streamlining initiatives.
- Support with ad hoc financial control projects.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
- CA/CPA qualified accountant with experience working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- 5+ years post qualification experience in managing financial reporting, external audits, and tax compliance - including the preparation of technical financial position papers.
- Strong technical financial reporting and tax compliance skills, with proven experience in applying both in a practical manner.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and financial information to provide commercial outcomes and recommendations.
- Process improvement and optimisation mindset.
- Team player with strong communication & interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively and build relationships with stakeholders of varying background and financial competency.
- Highly self-driven, achievement orientated with a “can do” attitude and strong ability in exercising sound judgement on areas of ambiguity.
- Passion for developing and coaching and building the capability of others.
- Leadership, problem solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Able to learn and master new concepts, systems, and processes quickly.
- Advanced Excel, and NetSuite ERP experience will be highly regarded.
- Able to adjust to new situations and support others in adapting to change.
Key Deliverables
- Actively manage the month end closure across the Superloop Group entities to ensure timely communication and monitoring of individual month end tasks per month end timelines, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
- Manage and support financial and regulatory reporting deadlines to ensure accurate and timely compliance across the Superloop Group.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all balance sheet GL recs across the group, timely resolution of aged items and highlighting of risks & opportunities within 2 weeks of month close.
- Ensure leasing software is accurate and agrees to the GL with strong governance and controls.
- Strong team management with regular coaching, mentoring to develop team capability.
- Strong stakeholder management with all queries answered in a timely manner and AASB compliant balanced with commercial view. All queries answered within 5 business days with a resolution or a plan to resolve.
- Regular identifies process improvement and streamlining opportunities by bringing ideas to management.
