Driving core financial operations, statutory compliance and multi-entity accounting requirements, this role underpins robust financial governance and reporting accuracy across daily, monthly, and annual operational cycles. The Finance Manager is responsible for financial reporting, treasury, tax submissions, and external audit processes while actively supporting operational management and leadership reporting functions.
Working across multiple business functions, the position ensures high standards of financial soundness, internal controls, and entity-wide regulatory oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Execute daily cash management actions by placing funds on call.
Review budget allocations, load, and approve payments on a weekly basis.
Approve leave and training submissions weekly.
Meet semi-monthly with the Office Manager to align on office operational matters and provide finance-related feedback.
Produce accurate monthly management accounts, client invoicing, debtor management, and monthly finance presentations for the Deputy CEO.
Process monthly payroll and submit monthly VAT returns alongside relevant reconciliations.
Manage monthly accounting processes for four small entities.
Calculate monthly FSCA financial soundness metrics, handle sub-lease calculations and invoicing, track Representative CPD hours, and monitor advertising budget versus actual expenditure.
Oversee quarterly dividend calculations, DWT payments and returns, loan repayments and statements, client profitability reporting, StatsSA submissions, and participate in risk management meetings.
Complete bi-annual SARS EMP501 submissions, IRP5 generation, provisional tax submissions and payments, FSCA liquidity calculations, rebate payments, and compliance CPD reporting.
Manage annual financial submissions to StatsSA, FASSET, Employment Equity returns, FSCA AUM, ASISA AUM, and oversee external audits across five entities.
Prepare and submit annual Draft Budgets, Annual Financial Statements to the FSCA and relevant partners, audited SARB reports, Return of Earnings reports, and annual leave reports to the CEO.
Manage annual operational requirements including IT3(b) distributions, FSTC submissions, personal information confirmations, insurance content reviews, and BBB-EE verification assistance.
Handle ad-hoc office management duties and subscription maintenance as required.
Essential Requirements
Relevant graduate and postgraduate qualification.
10+ years’ experience in a financial accountant role.
Proven regulatory and compliance insight from a financial and entity-wide perspective.
Strong expertise in financial accounting, reporting, payroll, and HR functions.
High level of attention to detail, strong ethics, awareness of fiduciary duties, and ability to act confidently in all interactions.
Demonstrated problem-solving, accountability, integrity, and time management skills across diverse functions.
