Svitzer – on behalf of Batangas Bay Towage Inc – is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the finance function for its operations in Batangas. This is a key role for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working close to the business and making a tangible impact.

As Finance Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring strong financial governance, compliance and performance, supported by accurate reporting, and sound decision-making, while partnering closely with the General Manager, shareholders, and Svitzer regional colleagues.

You will ensure the business operates with robust controls, accurate reporting, and a strong focus on cost efficiency and compliance. You will work in a collaborative, international environment and engage regularly with senior stakeholders, including the board and shareholders.

Location: This role is based in Batangas and is best suited to someone who lives in Batangas or within practical commuting distance. As a key member of the management team, regular onsite presence is important. Flexible working arrangements are supported in line with company policy, based on a hybrid model of minimum 3 days per week in office and maximum up to 2 days per week remotely.

What you will do

As Finance Manager, you will do:

  • Manage all aspects of accounting, reporting, taxation, working capital management monitoring and optimisation.

  • Ensure full compliance with statutory, corporate, and regulatory rules and obligations

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business cases.

  • Drive financial performance, cost efficiency, and compliance across the business.

  • Manage daily finance operations, including payments, invoicing, and receivables.

  • Ensure statutory and management reporting is accurate and timely, and leading external audits.

  • Act as proactive business partner to the General Manager, providing financial advice, insight and challenge to support decision-making.

  • Prepare and present financial updates to the board and shareholders, and maintain close communication with shareholders.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • CPA/CA professional qualification.

  • Minimum 5–8 years of senior finance experience, including team leadership in an international team setting.

  • Strong financial acumen with knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, governance, and risk & control frameworks.

  • Proven experience in accounting, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, financial analysis, leading external audits and ensuring compliance with corporate and statutory obligations.

  • Extensive knowledge of Philippine taxation and regulations and familiar with other government agencies compliance requirement (BIR, LGU, BOI, BSP, BOC, MARINA).

  • Hands-on experience with ERP/finance systems; exposure to MS Dynamics and OneStream is an advantage.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Fluency in English and Tagalog (written and spoken).

  • Industry experience in towage, shipping, or transportation is preferred but not mandatory.
