Oversee the safe and reliable operation of a harbour tug’s engine room, propulsion systems, generators, auxiliary machinery, and technical equipment. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot failures, maintain technical records, monitor engineering consumables, coordinate with vessel and shore teams, and ensure compliance with maritime safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Develop and execute regional procurement category strategies for marine operations. Lead strategic sourcing, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, framework agreements, supplier performance management, risk mitigation, and contract governance. Partner with technical and operations teams on vessel maintenance and fleet requirements while delivering savings, improving procurement processes, and supporting procurement systems including Sertica and Basware.

Oversees internal and external communications, media relations, crisis response, stakeholder engagement, marketing communications, events, digital and social media. Drives business growth across AMEA by developing pipelines, shaping market opportunities, leading tenders, preparing business cases, assessing financial and contractual risks, and supporting negotiations. The role owns engine-room safety, vessel readiness, planned maintenance, spares, stores, and engineering records while supporting the Master and crew. The engineer works a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotation while living onboard, managing faults under pressure and maintaining safe, reliable vessel operations.

Manage HSSEQ and marine standards for Svitzer’s Bangladesh fleet, crew, and shore operations. Responsibilities include maintaining the safety management system, ensuring compliance with OVMSA, ISM, MLC, and ISPS requirements, conducting audits and incident investigations, coordinating with flag and class authorities, managing safety initiatives and KPIs, reviewing operational risk, and supporting crew training and vessel standards.
