Role description
As Finance Manager you will play a key role in driving financial performance and supporting sustainable growth for ABB’s Energy Industries business across the DACH Cluster. Reporting to the CSE Hub Finance Manager, you will lead the Germany Finance organization and act as a trusted finance partner to the Local Division Manager and leadership team. You will combine strong financial stewardship with strategic business partnering, helping translate financial insights into better business decisions across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The regular location presence is required in one of ABB Germany offices: Mannheim, Minden, eventually Ratingen or Frankfurt am Main.
Main responsibilities
- Act as a strategic finance partner to the DACH leadership team, providing financial insights, analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, month-end closing and performance management across the DACH Cluster.
- Drive profitability, cash flow and productivity, proactively identifying financial risks, opportunities and improvement actions.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting, governance, compliance and internal controls in line with ABB requirements.
- Support commercial, project and operational teams with business cases, investment decisions, financial evaluations and risk assessments.
- Lead simplification, continuous improvement and digitalization initiatives to improve finance processes, transparency and reporting quality.
- Collaborate across local, regional and global organizations, ensuring alignment with CSE Hub Finance priorities, processes and best practices.
- Lead, coach and develop the Finance organization in Germany, while acting as a change leader and contributing to strategic initiatives across the DACH business.
Qualifications for the role
- Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
- Several years of relevant experience in finance, controlling, business partnering or a comparable finance leadership role.
- Extensive expertise in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, performance management and financial analysis.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels.
- Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills, with experience advising business leaders and translating financial data into actionable recommendations.
- Solid understanding of governance, compliance, risk management and internal controls.
- Professional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration in a matrix and international environment
- Effective analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a hands-on, improvement-oriented mindset and experience driving simplification or continuous improvement.
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
