Overview
Reporting to the European Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing a finance team, driving financial reporting and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations for multiple legal entities. You will also lead audits, manage the month-end close, and be involved in SAP S/4HANA testing and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to ensure all team members are performing effectively.
- Manage the preparation of balance sheets, P&L statements and other financial statements and reports for various legal entities.
- Take a hands-on role in month-end close processes, working to strict deadlines.
- Lead and liaise with external auditors on audits and statutory reporting across three jurisdictions.
- Responsible for ensuring the successful day to day finance operations including employee expenses, cash management, VAT and tax processes across a number of European countries, customer rebates and payroll, while maintaining a high level of internal controls.
- Assist in leading team members through system testing and implementation of an SAP system upgrade in 2025.
- Participate in cross-location standardisation and special documentation projects within the EU region.
- Identify, develop and drive continuous improvement as local lean leader.
- Report to the European Financial Controller.
Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant: Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience.
- Strong GL Accounting & VAT Expertise: Extensive background in general ledger accounting and European VAT.
- SAP Experience: Proven experience with SAP, ideally with SAP S/4HANA.
- Audit Expertise: Solid understanding of audit processes, particularly across multiple jurisdictions.
- Leadership & People Management: Demonstrated ability to manage and develop finance teams.
- Multi-tasking & Deadline Driven: Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong analytical skills and a commercial mindset, with a desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication.
- Proven ability to use his/her own initiative while at the same time work well as a team player.
