Finance Manager, FP&A

Summary:

Manages, prepares, administers, and directs the control of the budget. Manages the activities of the financial analyst staff. Reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning and control, providing relevant fiscal information to executive management team. Monitors division and department adherence to approved budget. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Finance Manager – FP&A

Location: Pune, India

Position Description:

VIAVI Solutions is looking for the best and brightest to drive the financial planning and analysis activities, providing strategic financial insights and decision support to senior management.

As the FP&A Manager, you will be responsible for the consolidated financial analysis, reporting, planning and forecasting across the entire NSE business segment. The FP&A Manager role involves developing budgets, forecasts and financial models, as well as analyzing financial performance and market trends to inform VIAVI business strategy.

VIAVI’s NSE business operates in a fast-paced environment with Business Units, engineering teams, and manufacturing locations across the globe. Reporting to the Director of NSE Finance who is based in the US, this role requires frequent interaction with senior management in the corporate office and partnering with Business Unit leaders and their teams. This position will also support key centralized functions within the NSE Business Segment.

As an exceptional FP&A leader with strong business acumen and the ability to understand VIAVI’s diverse business units, you will collaborate with leadership teams, and the Corporate FP&A accounting teams, to translate operating results comprehensively in terms of analysis, reporting, planning and forecasting.

You will be working very closely with the Corporate FP&A Corporate Accounting teams as required.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Creation and maintenance of monthly financial metrics as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. The position will be responsible for several areas of the month-end NSE segment reporting process and related analytics. The position will serve as the key point of contact for several key areas of the FP&A process, specifically the annual budget and forecasting initiatives for the NSE segment.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identify trends and provide insights to support business decisions.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, while maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Collaborate with leadership to align financial strategies with overall business goals.
• Prepare and present financial reports to management and other stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Build financial models to support informed decision making based on available data.
• Comfortable jumping in to support a wide variety of projects and initiatives, utilizing your strong business partnering skills. Respond to ad hoc requests from business partners and leadership.
• Seek opportunities to improve financial processes and enhance efficiency, while monitoring economic, industry and market trends to provide insights into potential impacts for VIAVI.
• You will be comfortable utilizing forecasting techniques to predict future financial trends and outcomes.
• Grow and lead a team of financial analysts to support increasing responsibilities of the FP&A organization in Pune.
• Participate in special projects to support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is required; MBA or CA preferred.
• Significant experience in finance, preferably within the technology or hardware manufacturing industry.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Experience working in a global, publicly traded, matrixed organization is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• An understanding of US-GAAP, SOX, and GL accounting.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and financial statement analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel is essential.
• Familiarity with Oracle, Hyperion Planning, Essbase, MS Access, Tableau, OBIEE is desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
