Overview

Help shape the financial strategy and execution behind Microsoft’s AI growth in Japan. You will join Japan Commercial Finance and partner with Sales, Go-to-Market, Customer Success, Sales Excellence, and regional and corporate Finance teams to support the growth of Copilot and Cowork. You will help the team connect financial and operational signals, strengthen business decisions, and drive sustainable customer value.

 

As the Finance Manager for Copilot and Cowork, you will provide financial insight across planning, forecasting, and performance management. You will analyze revenue, pipeline, paid seats, adoption, usage, consumption, and renewals; identify risks and opportunities; and collaborate with business leaders to define action plans. This opportunity will allow you to deepen your commercial and AI business acumen, strengthen your financial analysis and executive communication skills, and help develop financial frameworks for emerging AI businesses.

Responsibilities
  • You will provide insights and recommendations to support revenue and customer-value goals for Copilot and Cowork. You will collaborate with business leaders to define financial analysis action plans and evaluate risks, opportunities, and trade-offs.

 

  • You will develop a reliable view of performance across revenue, pipeline, paid seats, adoption, usage, consumption, and renewals. You will help establish consistent key performance indicators and analytical frameworks as the business evolves.

 

  • You will build and leverage relationships with Sales, Go-to-Market, Customer Success, Sales Excellence, Deal Desk, and Finance partners. You will use financial judgment and business knowledge to influence decisions and support coordinated execution across Japan, Asia, and corporate teams.

 

  • You will complete and review financial analysis, modeling, and research to support forecast and planning cycles. You will test assumptions, assess scenarios, and assimilate complex data into a clear narrative for business leaders.

 

  • You will contribute to new methods and approaches to data collection and analysis. You will leverage analytics and AI capabilities to increase productivity, improve data quality, and strengthen the consistency and scalability of Finance support.
  • To support compliance with company policies, legal standards, and reporting requirements, you will review the accuracy of financial information and business processes. You will also consult with business partners on sharing financial information and remaining consistent with corporate policies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field; OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field; OR equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience translating financial and operational data into clear insights, recommendations, and actions for business stakeholders.

 

Additional or preferred qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or Finance work experience OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.

• 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product or multi-segment finance roles.

• 1+ year(s) work experience in a matrix-based organization.

• 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field, plus 4 or more years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or a related field; or a master's degree in a related field plus 2 or more years of experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience translating financial and operational data into clear insights, recommendations, and actions for business stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 8 or more years of postgraduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance experience; or a master's degree plus 6 or more years; or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in multinational organizations with multi-product or multi-segment finance roles.
  • At least 1 year of experience working in a matrix-based organization.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the technology or software industry.
