Finance Lead - Partnerships

Summary:

Uganda’s leading digital job-matching platform and career services company, BrighterMonday Uganda, has designed a youth skilling and employment impact project to improve employability of Ugandan youth and transition them into dignified employment. To support this goal, we seek a Finance Lead to hold the mandate to plan and run Partnerships finance reporting for our East Africa projects. You will partner with the Head of Finance - Group Partnerships and other key internal stakeholders by providing financial assessment, measurement and reporting.

Brief Job Summary:

You will hold the mandate to plan and run Partnerships finance reporting for our East Africa projects. You will partner with the CFO and other key internal stakeholders by providing commercial financial assessment, measurement and reporting.

Key Duties & Job Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of projects from proposal to final submission.
  
• Prepare the financial justification formalities and ensure that approval is obtained prior to submission.
  
• Where necessary, review and highlight contrast.
  
• Escalate areas/topics for approval.
  
• Tracking of project development after approval to ensure achievement of financial objectives.
  
• Prepare reports of project progress to the Head of Finance - Group Partnerships.
  
• Ensure local tax compliance for project related costs and revenue
  
• Provide input on the resources required to run projects (staff, funding).
  
• Implement a governance structure to ensure completion and execution of projects properly 
  
• Prepare Budget and Forecasts planning financial information on Partnership projects
  
• Where necessary, travel to other markets to ensure effectiveness of project preparation and execution.
  
• Carry out any other tasks related to impact Projects in East Africa as directed by the Head of Finance - Group Partnerships

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Finance or an MBA is a plus.
  
• Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, ACCA or similar are preferred.
  

Years of Experience:

• 7 years experience and 3 years management experience
  
• Proven experience NGO, supporting project teams and driving financial tactical strategies focused on impact achievement and project sustainability.
